The shadows of pain that go unnoticed.

The smallest trace of thought ticks the

Pain

and that is all you think about.

Yes, the thought escapes,

but it comes

back.

For the doctor, it is just another

day of seeing a patient who

complains about this or that--

a surface-level repetitive source of

pain.

For the patient, it's an internal loop;

the simple thought of the

pain that manifests in

oneself.

In “The Knitted Glove,” Jack Coulehan clearly emphasizes the distinct relationship between one's conscious self and the

unattainable script-written mind of the doctor experiencing his

day-to-day life.

“If it’s not one thing it’s another.”

What level of pain does a person need to

experience

to be taken

seriously?
