A group of UCLA undergraduates who are passionate about literature and promoting greater understanding of the human condition and its intersections of health, illness, and healing through textual analysis.

Our Mission Statement:

 

Through literature, we seek to unravel illness and redefine the meaning of health. We hope to advocate  for humanistic patient care by working through dimensions of un-health:

• Illness (the unique experience of un-health)

• Disease (the pathological process)

• Sickness (the social role ascribed to the ill individual)​ With an emphasis on people and their stories, we hope to create a community invested in reading, writing, and thinking critically about experiences within healthcare and the complexities of patienthood.
